This role ensures timely, safe, and effective IV access for patient care, while supporting and mentoring staff nurses in enhancing their IV skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and perform IV cannulation for patients with difficult or challenging veins in all hospital departments.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety while following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
  • Respond promptly to requests from nursing and medical teams for IV access support.
  • Educate, guide, and mentor staff nurses to improve overall IV cannulation competency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of IV procedures performed.
  • Participate in training programs, audits, and quality initiatives related to IV therapy.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to standardize IV practices and improve success rates.
