**Job Title: IT Systems Administrator**

**Introduction**:
The IT Systems Administrator plays a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing the compute and storage infrastructure of our enterprise. This position is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our IT systems by monitoring, responding to alerts, and executing necessary updates and patches. The role significantly impacts our organization's efficiency and reliability, supporting both local and global operations.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- **Technology Stack Support**: Provide support for VMware, Veeam Backup, NetApp, Synology, RoomAlert, and HPE technologies.
- **Backup Monitoring**: Ensure the integrity and success of Veeam backup jobs, particularly for MS SQL databases.
- **Environmental Monitoring**: Keep track of UPS and other environmental alerts to ensure operational stability.
- **Patching Assistance**: Collaborate with patching teams to facilitate and execute patch activities.
- **Incident Management**: Handle initial calls related to compute and storage alerts, assess situations, and resolve or escalate incidents as necessary.
- **Firmware Updates**: Perform firmware updates for HPE and Synology hardware to maintain system security and performance.
- **VMware Management**: Execute software updates and security vulnerability patches for VMware ESXi, vCenter appliance, and VROPs, primarily during after-hours to minimize disruption.
- **General Duties**: Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline is preferred.
- **Experience**: A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years in Information Systems and 3 years in a related position within a mid to large-sized company.
- **ServiceNow Experience**: Familiarity with ServiceNow for ticket management and service requests.

**Tools and Technologies**:

- **Required Proficiency**:

- VMware Hypervisor and associated technologies
- Server hardware and storage array alerts
- SQL, particularly in the context of backup monitoring
- **Preferred Proficiency**:

- SolarWinds for network management and monitoring
- HP OneView for infrastructure management
- NetApp storage solutions
- Microsoft Excel and Outlook for data management and communication

**Support and Travel Requirements**:

- **Support Hours**: Availability for after-hours support for the Americas region.
- **Travel**: Minimal travel required, up to 10% as needed.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- **Language Skills**: Proficiency in English is required.
- **Mathematical Skills**: Basic mathematical skills are necessary.
- **Reasoning Skills**: Intermediate reasoning skills are essential for effective problem-solving.
