**Summary**

The team supports almost every department within Avalara, as an IT system it holds the keys to efficient marketing, sales, orders, case management, customer & partner satisfaction, implementations and more.
The demand on this system grows every month and the scrum teams are fielding a backlog of hundreds of tickets.
We currently have a Sales, Support and Quote to Cash scrum teams and a Service and Deployment desk, with functional leads in the US who are supported by development and SDET team in Pune.
The scrum teams are largely dedicated to regular course of business (“Running the Business RTB”) - upgrades to the system as well as addressing 16 years of tech debt.
The Salesforce SDET will support the service scrum team, with QA and automation tasks for building the quality system with scalable, best-in-class technological standards. The goal is for the Salesforce experience for Internal and External Users to be fast, seamless, pleasant. Salesforce should ultimately drive revenue from enhancements to the entire prospect to customer journey.

- What You'll Do
- Define and implement test automation strategy including roadmap, tools, framework for Scrum team
- Implement and help the team embrace best automation practices to maintain quality
- Be a key participant in creating a Quality First, Zero Defects culture. Promote Shift Left testing.
- Work closely with Scrum team members to clarify requirements, ensure testability and automation potential, and provide feedback on design
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and identify failing systems through the use of instrumentation and software
- Build/Enhance CICD pipeline
- Mentor/Coach Junior QA folks
- Ready for some overlap with our onshore team - Working with U.S. team would require a few hours per week overlap.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required
- 4+ years of experience in Test Automation and building frameworks and maintaining those for future enhancements.
- 3+ years experience in API/Web Services Test Automation Development
- Strong in any one programming language such as Java/C#
- Experience with test methodologies and software engineering.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience with Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins/Hudson etc.)
- Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills
