**Description**
- Comprehensive understanding of psychiatric disorders, including mood disorders (such as depression and bipolar disorder), anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders (such as schizophrenia), substance use disorders, personality disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders (such as autism spectrum disorder).
- Proficiency in conducting psychiatric assessments, including diagnostic interviews, mental status examinations, and psychiatric history reviews.
- Skill in formulating accurate psychiatric diagnoses based on DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) criteria and other diagnostic guidelines.
- Ability to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs and preferences of patients, considering factors such as symptom severity, co-occurring medical conditions, psychosocial stressors, and treatment goals.
- Expertise in prescribing and managing psychotropic medications, including antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, anxiolytics, and stimulants.
- Knowledge of psychotropic medication mechanisms of action, pharmacokinetics, dosing strategies, side effects, and potential drug interactions.
- Skill in conducting medication monitoring, assessing treatment response, and adjusting medication regimens based on clinical efficacy and tolerability.
- Competence in providing various forms of psychotherapy, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, interpersonal therapy, supportive therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing.
- Ability to establish therapeutic rapport, build trust, and facilitate a collaborative therapeutic relationship with patients.
- Skill in conducting psychotherapeutic interventions to address maladaptive thoughts, emotions, and behaviors associated with psychiatric disorders.
