**Job Title: Textile Designer - Mer**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Design Creation**:

- Create sketches, samples, and prototypes for new collections.
- **Trend and Market Research**:

- Stay updated on global têxtile trends, color forecasts, and emerging techniques.
- Research consumer preferences and competitor products to ensure market relevance.
- **Material and Technique Expertise**:

- Experiment with different fabrics, fibres, dyes, and printing techniques to achieve desired effects.
- Work with manufacturers and suppliers to source materials and finalize designs.
- **Collaboration**:

- Coordinate with fashion designers, and clients to integrate têxtile designs into end products.
- Provide creative input and suggestions to complement overall design aesthetics.
- **Technology and Tools**:

- Use specialized software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD) to create digital têxtile designs.
- Operate and understand fabric weaving and printing machinery when necessary.
- **Quality and Sustainability**:

- Ensure all designs meet quality standards and production feasibility.
- Explore and incorporate sustainable materials and processes into designs.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field. (Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.)

Preferred institutes: National Institute of Design (NID), National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Polimoda, Istituto Marangoni, Central St. Martins, London College of Fashion, Parsons, or FIT New York.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in têxtile design, focusing on luxury prêt, high-end fabrics, and western wear.
- Proven experience working with national and international designers or brands in collaborative environments.
- Expertise in fabric manipulation, construction, weaving, dyeing, embroideries, ornamentation and printing processes, with a strong knowledge of garment integration.
- Deep understanding of color theory and the ability to conduct comprehensive color research to develop palettes aligned with brand identity and market trends.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- A strong portfolio showcasing innovative têxtile patterns, prints, and collections aligned with luxury fashion standards.
- Knowledge of global fashion trends and a passion for high-end fashion.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively liaise with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to render sketches will be an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Experience with luxury brands or high-profile collaborations.
- Familiarity with production timelines, quality assurance, and sourcing processes.
- Expertise in creating and presenting mood boards for concept development

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
