Description: Payroll Assistant (Manufacturing Industry) Job Summary: A Payroll Assistant in a manufacturing industry is responsible for processing employee salaries, maintaining payroll records, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and coordinating with HR and finance departments. They help ensure that employees are paid accurately and on time while adhering to company policies and government regulations. --- Key Responsibilities: 1. Payroll Processing: Collect and verify employee attendance, working hours, and overtime records. Process payroll calculations, including deductions, bonuses, and allowances. Assist in the preparation and disbursement of salaries through bank transfers or other payment methods. 2. Compliance & Record-Keeping: Maintain payroll records, including employee salary details, tax deductions, and benefits. Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies. Assist in statutory filings such as EPF, ESI, TDS, and professional tax. 3. Employee Queries & Support: Address payroll-related queries from employees. Assist in handling salary discrepancies and resolving disputes. Provide employees with payslips and tax-related documents. 4. Coordination & Reporting: Work closely with the HR department to manage employee data. Support finance teams in payroll budgeting and audits. Prepare payroll reports and summaries for management review. 5. System & Data Management: Use payroll software to process and track employee payments. Ensure data accuracy and confidentiality of employee salary records. --- Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field. Experience in payroll processing, preferably in a manufacturing setting. Knowledge of payroll software (e.g., SAP, Tally, QuickBooks, or any ERP system). Familiarity with labor laws, taxation, and statutory compliance. Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Good communication and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in MS Excel and payroll management tools. Work Environment & Schedule: Typically works in an office within a manufacturing facility. Full-time role with standard working hours, though overtime may be required during payroll periods.
