In-Process Quality Engineer - EMS

Experience: 3-4 years in EMS or electronics manufacturing

Qualification: Diploma/B.E/B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary:
The In-Process Quality Engineer ensures that all manufacturing processes meet quality standards in an EMS environment. The role involves monitoring production lines, identifying defects, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement to achieve high-quality electronic assemblies and PCBAs.

Key Responsibilities:
Process Quality Control:
Monitor and ensure adherence to in-process quality standards across SMT, wave soldering, assembly, and testing.

Conduct first article inspection (FAI), in-process inspections (IPQC), and final inspections as per standards.

Analyze defect trends (DPMO, FPY, PPM) and drive corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with IPC-A-610, ISO 9001, IATF 16949 (if applicable).

Failure Analysis & Corrective Actions:
Investigate process failures, conduct root cause analysis (RCA) using 8D, 5Why, or Fishbone analysis.

Implement and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Collaborate with production and design teams to resolve quality issues.

Quality Systems & Documentation:
Maintain and update control plans, work instructions, and SOPs.

Support audits - ISO, customer audits, internal audits.

Conduct PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to mitigate risks.

Continuous Improvement & Training:
Drive Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives for quality improvement.

Train operators on ESD control, workmanship standards (IPC), and defect identification.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance process efficiency.

Key Skills & Competencies:
✔ Strong knowledge of SMT, Through-Hole, PCBA, and electronic assembly processes.
✔ Hands-on experience with AOI, SPI, ICT, FCT, and X-ray inspection systems.
✔ Familiarity with IPC-A-610, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ESD standards.
✔ Proficiency in quality tools - 8D, 5Why, Fishbone, MSA, SPC, and DOE.
✔ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
✔ Ability to work with cross-functional teams (production, R&D, supply chain, and customer support).

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
