**Job Summary**:
The Retail Pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to patients in the hospital's retail pharmacy. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals, counseling patients, and managing pharmacy operations to enhance patient care and medication safety.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Medication Dispensing**:

- Accurately dispense medications as per physician prescriptions.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and state regulations.
- **Patient Counseling**:

- Provide information and counseling to patients on medication use, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Answer patient inquiries and resolve any concerns regarding medications.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and case discussions as needed.
- **Inventory Management**:

- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering medications and supplies.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals to maintain their integrity.
- **Clinical Support**:

- Review medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Conduct medication therapy management and assist in therapeutic drug monitoring.
- **Compliance and Quality Assurance**:

- Adhere to all legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and contribute to improving pharmacy services.
- **Education and Training**:

- Mentor pharmacy technicians and interns.
- Provide educational sessions for staff and patients as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree from an accredited institution.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting, preferably within a hospital environment.
