Iron Worker

A Laundry Iron Worker is responsible for ironing, pressing, and smoothing clean fabrics, garments, and linens to remove wrinkles and creases using steam irons and presses. Their duties also include operating various laundry machines, ensuring proper finishing of articles, maintaining clean and safe work areas, and sometimes performing minor repairs on clothing. This role requires careful handling of different materials, a keen eye for detail, and adherence to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- **Ironing and Pressing**:Operate steam irons and presses to remove wrinkles and creases from laundered clothing, linens, and other têxtiles.
- **Machine Operation**:Load, operate, and unload washing machines, dryers, and flat ironers or steam pressers.
- **Quality Control**:Ensure items are handled with care and meet cleanliness standards for proper finishing.
- **Maintenance**:Keep all working areas and laundry equipment clean and in good working order.
- **Repairs**:Make minor repairs to clothing, such as stitching small holes or replacing buttons.
- **Safety Compliance**:Follow all safety procedures and practices, including OSHA and local requirements.
- **Sorting and Packaging**:Sort, count, and pack laundered items, and prepare them for delivery or customer collection.

Required Skills and Qualifications
