**Purpose of the Role**:
To develop and implement new chemistries using microbial strains/enzymes to aid in the business growth of UPL, under the guidance of the management

**Responsibilities**:

- Seeking a thorough understanding of microbial/enzyme biotransformation to conduct day to day experiments as per Project Execution Plan
- Creating hypothesis-driven research proposals
- Conducting and evaluating laboratory-based research
- Proposing newer strategies in an iterative manner, until project goals are achieved
- Regular review of the results and take corrective actions
- Timely reporting of results to the superior
- Process Optimization for cost effectiveness
- To conduct experiments for cost reduction, waste reduction and quality improvement
- Assists the manager in Plans, Designs, conducting experiments and preparing QMS documents
- Conducts literature survey for product development
- Executes internal calibration of equipment
- Executes experiments for scale-up
- Developing productive working relationships with scientists within the department, and other colleagues across R&D and non-R&D departments within the organization
- Supporting development of protocols, reports and SOPs, and ensuring proper documentation of research conducted in the lab.
