**Structured hybrid role**:
**Introduction**:
Supporting the Sanctions PCO team, the role holder will be proactive and drive excellence in Sanctions and Screening risk management globally across transaction cycles, through the provision of appropriate guidance and advice to colleagues across all lines of defence, ensuring appropriate consideration of risk appetite and Policy and Regulation. The role holder will be required to manage a number of internal and external stakeholders at varying levels effectively to drive strategic enhancements to the Sanctions Programme.

What will you be doing?
ï‚- Support the Sanctions PCO team to develop, enhance and drive the global Sanctions strategic approach and delivery of the Sanctions programme;
ï‚- Support the development and enhancement to the global Operating Models that support the Sanctions programme, with a focus on data-driven insights and proactive risk identification, working collaboratively across transaction cycles and global Sanctions and Compliance teams;
ï‚- Support and drive the framework to ensure appropriate 2LOD oversight across end to end Sanctions Screening processes and controls;
ï‚- Act as empowered delegate to support and provide SME advice to Operations and Technology partners on strategic change initiatives that impact the Sanctions control environment, ensuring appropriate consideration of risk;
ï‚- Provide support during Assurance, Audit and external Regulatory reviews relating to Sanctions processes and controls;
ï‚- Identify, respond to and monitor external events and internal process and control issues as they arise supporting management to successful closure.
ï‚- Support delivery of Sanctions Screening PCO team activities and governance model, pro-actively identifying and driving improvements to maintain effectiveness and drive efficiency;
ï‚- Support and perform independent sample based Quality Assurance (QA) reviews on alerts adjudicated by the Sanctions Alert Advisory (L5) team across payments and client screening activities;
ï‚- Collate, coordinate and prepare reports for periodic reporting on the specified Sanctions Key Risk Indicators (KRIs);
ï‚- Represent Barclays with external outreach activities with strategic vendors and industry bodies;
ï‚- Maintain oversight of the Sanctions teams service levels and key indicators;
**What we’re looking for**:
ï‚- Good working knowledge of data led approaches to identify, monitor and manage Sanctions risk
ï‚- Good working knowledge of Sanctions list management and Screening Technologies within a complex environment.
ï‚- Good working knowledge of OFAC, HMT, EU, UN and other jurisdictional Sanctions laws, regulators, regulatory expectations and industry best practice
ï‚- Experience at a financial institution, preferably within the Sanctions space and demonstrating strong leadership and operational management skills
ï‚- Graduate / Post graduate.

**Skills that will help you in the role**:
ï‚- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience of working within a highly regulated environment along with a sound understanding of the current environment and key issue within financial services
ï‚- Experience in implementing policies and procedures, and maintaining effect oversight of functions and businesses
ï‚- Good advisory skills with the ability to consistently make sound decisions through a combination of analysis, business acumen, and judgment
ï‚- Good understanding of the dynamics of large, complex organizations and matrix working
ï‚- Good working knowledge of Sanctions Screening systems used by Barclays including Fircosoft and OWS.
