**Job Title**: Ward Assistant
**Reports to**: Ward Manager / Head Nurse
**Location**: Pranav Multispeciality Hospital, Mukerian
**Job Purpose**
To provide essential support to healthcare professionals, enhance patient comfort, and maintain the ward’s operational efficiency by ensuring a clean, safe, and organized environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Patient Support**:
- Assist patients with mobility needs, including moving from beds to wheelchairs.
- Help patients with personal care tasks (under supervision), such as feeding, dressing, and washing, if needed.
- Provide companionship to patients by spending time with them, especially those who may feel lonely or anxious.
- Offer emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families.
- **Transportation and Transfer of Patients**:
- Safely transport patients to various departments or areas within the hospital, such as radiology, physiotherapy, or operating theaters.
- Coordinate with nursing staff to ensure safe and comfortable transfers.
- **Administrative and Logistical Support**:
- Assist with paperwork, filing, and updating patient records as directed by healthcare staff.
- Prepare patient rooms and beds, ensuring all supplies are ready and organized.
- Distribute meals, water, and other essential items to patients and collect trays after meals.
- Replenish medical and non-medical supplies as required.
- **Cleaning and Hygiene**:
- Ensure that all areas of the ward are kept clean, tidy, and free of hazards.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, including regular disinfecting of equipment and surfaces.
- Promptly report any maintenance or cleaning issues to the facilities department.
- **Coordination and Communication**:
- Work closely with nursing staff, doctors, and other ward personnel to coordinate patient care and transport needs.
- Relay messages between patients, their families, and healthcare staff as needed.
- **Emergency Assistance**:
- Assist with emergency procedures as directed, such as patient evacuations or other urgent protocols.
- Be ready to assist healthcare staff in urgent situations by quickly retrieving equipment or notifying relevant personnel.
**Qualifications and Skills**
- **Educational Requirements**: High school diploma or equivalent; certification in patient care or healthcare support is an advantage.
- **Experience**: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not always required.
- **Skills**:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Empathy and a compassionate approach to patient care
- Physical stamina for transporting and assisting patients
- Basic understanding of hygiene and safety practices in healthcare
- **Personal Qualities**: Patient, dependable, detail-oriented, and respectful of confidentiality.
**Working Conditions**
- **Hours**: Typically rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on ward needs.
- **Physical Demands**: Walking, standing, lifting, and assisting patients with mobility.

Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
