Ward Attendant

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Helping patients with ambulation (walking), transfers (bed to chair, chair to wheelchair, etc.), and positioning in bed.
- Assisting bedridden patients with turning and repositioning to prevent bedsores.
- Escorting patients to and from examination rooms, treatment areas, operation theatres, and diagnostic departments (e.g., X-ray, MRI) as required.
- Assisting patients with bathing, showering, oral hygiene, hair care, and shaving.
- Aiding with dressing and undressing.
- Assisting patients with toilet needs, including bedpans and urinals, and emptying/cleaning them.
- Assisting patients who require help with feeding, ensuring they are comfortable and safe during meals.
- Distributing and collecting meal trays.
- Reporting any changes in a patient's condition, behaviour, or complaints to the nursing staff immediately.
- Observing and reporting any signs of discomfort, pain, or distress.
- Reporting any spills, hazards, or maintenance issues in the ward.
- Ensuring patient beds are clean, tidy, and made according to hospital standards.
- Distributing and changing linens as needed.
- Assisting in maintaining a quiet and calm environment for patients.
- Transporting equipment, specimens, and patient belongings as directed.
- Ensuring ward equipment is clean and stored appropriately.
- Notifying nursing staff of any malfunctioning equipment.
- Running errands within the hospital as directed by nursing staff (e.g., delivering reports, collecting medications from pharmacy).
- Assisting with the transfer of deceased patients to the morgue as per hospital policy, ensuring dignity and respect.
- Adhering to all hospital safety protocols and procedures.
- Practicing proper hand hygiene and other infection control measures consistently.
- Understanding and following procedures for handling hazardous materials and waste.
- Assisting in emergency situations (e.g., fire, code blue) as directed by staff.
- Working collaboratively with nurses, doctors, and other hospital staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
**Qualifications**:
- Education: Minimum of 10th standard (Matriculation) pass or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting or similar role is an advantage.
** Skills**:
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Good physical stamina and strength to assist with patient transfers and mobility.
- Empathy and compassion towards patients.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and infection control principles.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, pull, and move patients and equipment. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
**Working Conditions**:
- Works in a hospital ward environment, which can be fast-paced and demanding.
- May be exposed to various bodily fluids and infectious diseases, requiring adherence to strict infection control protocols.
- Requires working flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Pay: ₹7,500.00 - ₹10,000.00 per month
Supplemental Pay:
- Overtime pay
