**Job description**

**Job Objective**: The Area Sales Officer will be responsible for leading and driving sales initiatives for the company. This role involves developing and executing strategic plans to achieve area sales targets, managing distributor relationships, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position reports directly to the Manager - Sales.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement area sales strategies tailored for the general trade segment.
- Collaborate with the Manager to align regional strategies with overall sales objectives.
- Establish and maintain relationships with distributors and channel partners in the defined area.
- Support negotiations and finalize distribution agreements, ensuring adherence to terms.
- Conduct thorough market analysis in the northern region to identify opportunities, trends, and competitor activities.
- Leverage insights to develop effective regional sales strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing to plan and execute promotions and merchandising activities.
- Ensure optimal product visibility and placement in general trade outlets within the assigned region.
- Monitor regional sales performance against targets and analyze sales data.
- Collaborate with the Manager to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.
- Work closely with the Manager, marketing, distribution, and product development teams.
- Collaborate with trade marketing teams to implement in-store promotions and enhance product visibility.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the general trade within the assigned region.
- Address customer concerns and issues promptly.

**Qualification & Experience**:

- Master’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience of at least 5 years in sales management within the FMCG sector, with a focus on general trade.

**Skills**:

- Team management and leadership.
- Strong understanding of general trade channels and market dynamics.
- Analytical skills for interpreting sales data and market trends.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills
