**Data Scientist | Remote | Full-Time**
**Job description**
- Investigate/mine new data streams to assess utility and ability to connect to existing environments and identify trends.
- Document and communicate technical/analytic results for a non-technical audience
- Participate in the continuous development and refinement of analytical vision, processes and system approaches
- Support efforts to collect, compile, and validate data using standard programming languages
- Support with data analysis and data preparation
- Support the process of identifying key problems
- Validate, transform, clean and visualize data from a variety of sources
- Build statistical models to form the foundation of business decisions and regularly monitor the performance of those models so corrective action can be taken
- Work under the supervision of a senior team member to create a mathematical model to support the observed experimental data for discovery phase analysis
- Explain the predictive models to various business users and make recommendations to drive business strategy
- Collaborate with business decision makers and computing staff to develop and/or deploy computational approaches to business processes;
- Completed a business-related degree, with a major or emphasis/minor in Data Science/Data Mining/Data Analytics or any quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Physics, etc.
- Intern or work experience with predictive analytics, pattern recognition, or data mining/data analysis preferred
- Self-motivated, work well both independently and as part of an agile team
- Programming skills and ability to utilize a variety of data/analytic software languages/tools (e.g., Git. SQL, SAS, R, etc.).
