Ø Perform Root Cause Analysis -RCA of production incidents/problems Identify Database/Application Performance Bottlenecks Overall Database
- Ø Instance Analysis & Tuning Individual Query Analysis & Tuning

Ø Setting up SQL Profiling & Baseline for Key Operations

Ø Partitioning huge sized tables for better performance and ease of maintenance Archival and Purging Solutions

Ø DB/Query optimization Database Re-Organization and Reclaim Unused Space Identify

Ø Recommend Process Improvement Areas Generating Various Performance Reports and Metrics for detailed investigation & Advisory Fine tuning of Daily/Weekly and EOM(end of month) jobs

Should be Proficient on following activities

Ø Diagnose and Troubleshoot DB issues such as incidents, internal errors, bugs, performance issues and poor SQL statements

Ø Monitor Overall DB Resource Utilization like CPU, Memory & I/Os Assist Application Releases

Ø Work on Critical Incidents, Changes & Other DBA Requests Work collaboratively with Application Team

Ø Work as Primary On-Call DBA 24/7 Work with Vendor and External Service Providers on key issues

Ø Work with Application Team for Monitoring Tools such as Splunk Agent Install & Write Dashboard SQL Queries Troubleshoot Intermittent DB Issues Participate on Stability Calls for Critical Applications

Additional Skill Set

Ø Good troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve issues quickly

Ø Good knowledge on OEM Grid Control

Ø Good Team Player Should be able to handle high severity operations incidents
