Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled and driven Operations Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux, Shell Scripting, SQL, Spark, and Kubernetes, with proven experience in ensuring the seamless operation and integration of systems and applications. This individual will play a key role in supporting our operations and maintaining the optimal performance and functionality of our technology infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive operational support for a variety of systems, including Linux, Spark and Kubernetes.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance shell and Linux scripts to automate tasks, optimize workflows, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Oversee and optimize SQL databases, ensuring peak performance and reliability.
  • Design, run, maintain, and debug SQL queries to streamline data pipelines and improve operational workflows.
  • Utilize PowerPoint and Excel to create clear, insightful reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration and enhancements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Linux administration and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes for efficient container orchestration.
  • Basic knowledge of Apache Spark for big data processing.
  • Fundamental knowledge in shell scripting and Python scripting capabilities.
  • Strong command of SQL for effective database management and complex queries.
  • Familiarity with Databricks for big data analytics.
  • Proficiency in creating presentations with PowerPoint and data analysis with Excel.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Optional Skills:

  • Experience with Tidal/Autosys for job scheduling.
  • Knowledge of Hue for Hadoop user interface management.
  • Basic understanding of Kubernetes and its main components .

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
