Reports To: Finance Manager/Controller
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting. This position requires an individual with excellent analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payment of invoices and accurate recording of transactions.
Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing analysis and insights to support decision-making.
Monitor actual vs. budgeted expenses and revenues, and provide variance analysis.
Tax Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, preparing and filing tax returns as required.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the hotel industry.
Internal Controls:
Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard the company's assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and mitigate financial risks.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments, including Operations, Sales, and HR, to provide financial insights and support.
Assist in the preparation of financial presentations for management and stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in special projects and assignments as needed.
Continuously improve accounting processes and systems.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and hotel industry-specific accounting practices.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
