An OP Manager - Pharmacy is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions of a pharmacy's operations, especially in an outpatient (OP) setting. Their role is vital to ensuring that the pharmacy runs smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulations. Here are some key responsibilities and skills associated with the role:
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management:
- Supervising pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
- Scheduling shifts and ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet operational needs.
- Providing training and development opportunities for staff.
Inventory Management:
- Ensuring the pharmacy maintains an adequate inventory of medications and supplies.
- Managing stock levels, ordering medications, and overseeing the storage of pharmaceutical products.
- Implementing strategies to reduce waste and control costs.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensuring the pharmacy complies with all local, state, and federal regulations related to medication dispensing, safety protocols, and record-keeping.
- Overseeing safety and cleanliness protocols within the pharmacy environment.

Customer Service:

Skills and Qualifications:
- Pharmacy Degree : Typically, a pharmacist license (in some regions, an OP Manager may be a licensed pharmacist).
