Position Summary:
The Medical Writer plays a critical role in conceptualizing and developing high-quality medical and scientific content tailored to meet the expectations of highly skilled pharmaceutical professionals. This role requires exceptional medical and scientific writing expertise, combined with strong client and project management skills to operate independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will deliver solutions aligned with client strategies, including brand and medical plans, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy. Deliverables include manuscripts, abstracts, slide decks, medical meeting reports, and other communication materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Content Development and Project Execution:
- Develop and deliver high-quality medical and scientific content for assigned projects.
- Serve as the primary client liaison to understand expectations and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews using databases such as PubMed, Medline, EMBASE, and Web of Science.
- Independently research, summarize, and disseminate information from various clinical specialties.
- Create, review, and finalize project-specific reports and materials in a timely fashion.
- Ensure medical, regulatory, and legal compliance for all scientific deliverables.
- Present work to clients across international time zones with professionalism and clarity.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Act as the key point of contact with internal stakeholders (project managers, graphic designers, line managers) for scientific deliverables.
- Liaise with Neovation project managers to align on medical requirements for projects.
- Collaborate effectively across teams to maintain quality and meet tight deadlines.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Educational Background: A Master's or Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences or related disciplines.
- Experience: 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in medical writing, editing, and referencing, with a proven ability to manage individual responsibilities independently.
- Core Competencies:
- Exceptional medical and scientific writing skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in PowerPoint and infographic creation for high-quality presentations.
- Deep understanding of scientific literature, including the ability to conduct advanced searches and reference accurately.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously with minimal guidance.
- Strong analytical, strategic planning, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Familiarity with MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
