About the role:
The Production Manager / Plant Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of production related to master alloys, cast alloys & vacuum furnaces. This includes ensuring efficient operations, achieving production targets, maintaining quality standards, and driving innovation while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute production plans to meet planning demand, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
- Has knowledge of operating Vacuum Based Furnaces.
- Has knowledge of operating Induction Furnaces.
- Optimize & manage workflows, resource allocation, and equipment utilization to maximize efficiency.
- Monitor production metrics such as yield, efficiency, and downtime, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Supervise and optimize the operations for master alloy & cast alloy production.
- Implement process improvements to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and maximize yield.
- Collaborate with independent director to integrate new technologies and refine existing processes.
- Lead and mentor a team of metallurgists, engineers, and operators to achieve production goals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and innovation.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide training to enhance technical and managerial capabilities.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and customer specifications throughout the production process.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any deviations or defects.
- Maintain compliance with international standards (e.g., ISO) and industry regulations.
- Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies as per safety laws and rules.
- Help in conducting regular risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate hazards.
- Promote sustainability by minimizing waste and energy consumption in production processes.
- Analyze and manage the production budget, ensuring cost control and resource efficiency.
- Analyze production costs and implement strategies to improve profitability.
- Monitor raw material inventory levels and collaborate with procurement to ensure timely supply.
- Check and ensure detailed production records, job cards and process data are updated and prepare comprehensive reports for senior management.
- Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and forecast production requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical, sales, quality, and maintenance, to align production with business objectives.
- Serve as a key point of contact for customer interactions regarding production-related queries.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven track record of managing large teams.
- Expertise in process control, production planning, and cost optimization.
- Should have atleast 5 year’s experience in Metallurgical industry.
- Should have s atleast 2 year’s experience in Aerospace industry.
- Should have atleast 2 years experience of Vacuum based furnaces.
- Proficiency in quality management systems, including AS/ISO standards.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and reporting skills.
