Job Summary:

The Backend Developer is responsible for creating and maintaining the server-side logic, databases, and APIs of our web applications or software systems. This role involves collaborating with frontend developers, designers, and other team members to ensure the seamless functioning of our applications.


Key functional responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain the server-side components of web applications or software systems.

Implement robust and scalable APIs, services, and databases.

Create and manage databases, including data modelling, indexing, and optimization.

Ensure data security and integrity.

API Development: Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms.

Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the backend architecture.

Implement caching, load balancing, and other performance optimization techniques.

Implement security best practices to protect against common vulnerabilities.

Stay updated on security threats and apply necessary patches and updates.

Work closely with frontend developers to ensure the seamless integration of frontend and backend components.

Collaborate with product managers, quality assurance, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.

Create and maintain technical documentation for APIs, databases, and server-side code.


Technology Scope External Systems Integration:

Proficient in integrating external systems and APIs.

Experience with payment aggregators like Juspay.


Technologies:

Kafka: Proficient in using Kafka for building real-time data pipelines and streaming applications.

Spring Boot: Experience in developing microservices and enterprise-level applications using Spring Boot.

Microservices: Skilled in designing and implementing microservices architectures.

Monolith to Microservices Migration: Expertise in transforming monolithic applications to microservices.


Requirements:

Someone with 7+ years experience working with the above mentioned tech stack.

Prior experience of working with a fast pace startup (Retail / QSR / E-commerce) would be preferred.

Expertise in Java, Node.js, Microservices & Spring boot.

Proficiency with MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.

Strong understanding of system design and architecture.

Experience with DevOps practices.

Team management experience is preferred.
