Job Description
- Highly skilled Apigee Developer to design, develop, and maintain API solutions using the Apigee API management platform.
- Hands on experience with API Design, API security, and Apigee platform (Edge, Hybrid or X, preferably Hybrid). Design, develop and deploy API proxies on Apigee platform.
- Work with internal teams to define API requirements and ensure smooth integration between APIs and backend services.
- Create and manage API policies, including security, traffic management, and rate limiting. Implement API security best practices using OAuth, JWT and other security protocols.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and industry best practices to protect data and prevent unauthorised access.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for API traffic and performance using Apigee's built-in tools or integrated third-party tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve API performance issues, errors and failures. Analyse and optimise API performance to ensure high availability and responsiveness.
- Implement caching, load balancing, and other optimisation techniques to enhance API efficiency. Create detailed API documentations for both internal and external developers.
- Follow and promote API best practices for consistent development and implementation.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including backend developers, architects, and business stakeholders, to ensure APIs meet functional and business requirements.
- Provide support for troubleshooting and resolving API related issues during the development lifecycle.
- Strong experience in Apigee, including creating and managing API proxies, shared flows, policies, and customisations. Experience in desiging RESTful APIs and integrating with backend systems. Knowledge of API versioning and data formats (JSON, XML) and web services.
