The ideal candidate will have a strong background in search, indexing, recommender systems or applied machine learning, and large-scale distributed systems. We are looking for experts in applied machine learning and experts in building systems at scale. Ideal candidate will have expertise in either of the areas or both The candidate will work closely with a team of engineers, data scientists, and product managers to design, develop, and optimize Search for one of the largest eCommerce destinations in India.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of core components of Flipkart’s next-generation search engine Optimize search functionalities through continuous experimentation, data analysis, and performance tuning.
Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects with focus on scalability and performance. Mentor and coach a team of engineers on design and best practices
Drive the collaboration with dependent teams and develop engineering solutions spanning across teams.
Manage project priorities and deliverables and provide visibility on key tracks.
Own the technical roadmap for the span and produce technical artifacts/blueprints.
Drive the operational excellence in the teams and maintain high standard for quality Drive initiatives to advance search relevance and ranking by deploying advanced machine learning models and natural language processing (NLP) techniques.
Requirements:
Strong understanding of information retrieval principles, data structures, and algorithms and distributed systems
Hands-on experience with search technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, or Lucene and vector DBs is highly desirable.
Deep understanding of machine learning techniques and their application to search relevance,ranking and personalisation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. 5+ years of experience in launching software products and at least 3 years of experience with software design and architecture involving distributed systems.
Education Qualifications:
BE/B.Tech/ME/M.tech (or an equivalent degree) in Computer Science
