Job Description - Copywriter

As a Copywriter at Unigage, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the creative direction and content of our campaigns, leading by example and inspiring junior team members. Your passion for the written word will set the standard for our agency, creating campaigns that leave people saying, "Wow, I wish I wrote that." You possess the unique ability to adapt your voice to suit the needs of our diverse clientele and are equally adept at crafting entirely new brand identities when required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ideation and Strategic Thinking:

  • Demonstrate strong conceptual thinking to unravel complex creative challenges and construct compelling brand narratives.
  • Create integrated creative concepts across various brands and channels, encompassing digital, experiential, social, activations, and film.
  • Exhibit a keen awareness of global, national, micro, and macro trends, thinking strategically to stay ahead of the curve.

2. Campaign Development and Execution:

  • Develop creative campaigns that not only meet but impress clients and deliver measurable results.
  • Craft and deliver persuasive pitches that bring proposed campaigns to life, addressing client requirements effectively.
  • Collaborate with clients to adapt ideas according to their preferences, providing clarity on feasibility and expected outcomes.
  • Possess excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to secure buy-in from both internal and client stakeholders.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships, becoming a trusted partner in shaping their creative strategy.

3. Leadership and Organizational Skills:

  • Lead a multifaceted team across multiple projects, ensuring completion within set deadlines.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, leveraging your experience to nurture their growth.
  • Strike a balance between hands-on creative work as part of a team and overseeing other projects in a leadership capacity.
  • Take ownership of all creative aspects of our agency's brand, reinforcing our reputation for creative excellence.

4. Market Impact and Recognition:

  • Develop and execute a strategy that positions Unigage's work as a source of industry recognition, admiration, and respect, both from clients and talent.
  • Produce work that reflects Unigage's deep understanding of market insights, culture, and creative prowess.



Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced writing environment with a deep understanding of client businesses and the ability to offer creative solutions.
  • Proven ability to think beyond individual campaigns and contribute to the development of creative marketing solutions, particularly in the digital realm.
  • Forward-thinking and adept at anticipating future trends and consequences, with a knack for connecting strategies to creative solutions.
  • A commitment to exceeding client expectations, building strong client relationships based on trust and respect.
  • Proven knowledge of social media first writing when it comes your work.

What Will Make You a Fit:

  • Mentoring in-house agency copywriters, elevating their strategic thinking and creative ideas.
  • Setting and maintaining high standards for creativity, ensuring our in-house creative outshines external agencies.
  • Reviewing all creative and copy to ensure it exceeds brief expectations.
  • Collaborating with designers, art directors, and fellow writers to create exceptional work.
  • Assisting the Creative Director in refining briefs and challenging audience insights to push for exceptional work.

  • Significant experience in writing, creative, or editorial roles.
  • Leadership experience or a willingness to take on a leadership role.
