Job Description:
As an Electrical Estimator at EZ Electric, you will play a crucial role in the preparation and delivery of accurate and competitive project estimates. You will be responsible for evaluating project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to determine the scope of work and associated costs.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze project requirements and prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information and clarify project specifications.
- Prepare comprehensive bid packages, including detailed breakdowns of costs and supporting documentation.
- Utilize your expertise in electrical systems and construction practices to develop accurate and competitive estimates.
- Maintain a database of cost information and historical project data to improve estimating accuracy.
- Stay informed about industry trends, cost fluctuations, and new technologies that may impact project costs.
- Proactively propose and explore the implementation of computer estimating software programs to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform administrative tasks related to project estimating, such as follow-up with clients and subcontractors.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Thorough knowledge of US National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant local codes. Experience estimating electrical projects within the United States is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 3-4 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator within the United States is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace applications (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.).
- Experience with QuickBooks Online is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
