Lead Python Developer will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing Python-based solutions. This individual will lead a team of developers, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality, performance, and scalability of our applications. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Python development, a solid grasp of modern software engineering practices, and proven leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop high-performance, reusable, and reliable Python code
Work on both backend systems and APIs, ensuring smooth integration with other services
Implement unit and integration tests to ensure the robustness of the codebase
Manage deployment processes, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance
Lead a team of Python developers, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical expertise
Oversee code quality and best practices to maintain high standards of development and testing
Review code and provide feedback to ensure robust, scalable, and maintainable code
Work closely with Product Managers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into effective, user-centric solutions
Participate in planning, design, and estimation sessions, contributing to technical discussions and decisions
Coordinate with DevOps to enhance automation and deployment pipelines
Stay updated on industry trends, introducing new techniques and tools to the team
Identify opportunities to refactor and improve existing codebases for enhanced maintainability and performance
Encourage a culture of learning and knowledge-sharing within the team
Solid knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and coding best practices.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
Must have:
5-7 years of experience in software development with Python, including 2+ years in a leadership or senior-level role
Proven experience with backend development and building RESTful APIs
Hands-on experience with frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI
Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Leadership qualities to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team
