Hiring DB2 DBA for our premium project at Chennai, Guindy.
Database Management L2 Support (DB2)
Job Summary: The Database Management L2 Support role provides advanced troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance for DB2 databases.
This role involves handling escalated issues, ensuring database performance, and supporting critical incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
· Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, such as performance bottlenecks, query optimization, and connectivity problems.
· Perform database administration tasks, including backup and restore management, replication, patching, and security updates.
· Configure and maintain user roles, permissions, and database security settings.
· Monitor and analyze database performance metrics to identify and resolve performance issues, escalating to L3 as needed.
· Document procedures, solutions, and best practices, contributing to a knowledge base for the team.
· Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database stability, scalability, and high availability.
· Assist with disaster recovery planning and execution, as well as with database migration activities.
Skills & Qualifications:
· Strong knowledge of DB2 database administration and troubleshooting.
· Experience with database performance monitoring tools (e.g., Solar Winds).
· Proficiency in writing and optimizing DB2 queries, as well as configuring and troubleshooting database backups.
· Working knowledge of scripting for database automation tasks.
· Strong English communication skills for documentation and cross-team collaboration.
· Certifications such as IBM Certified Database Administrator (DB2) are preferred.
Required Experience: 3-5 Years of Experience in Database administration
