As part of this Global Data PP, the Data Governance team work to implement policies, processes, standards, and technologies to ensure data is findable, understood, trusted, managed, and useable (whilst also supporting compliance with laws and regulations).
Working closely with the Data Governance Director and Data Stewards, we are looking for a Data Quality Analyst to support the implementation of Data Governance capability in priority Global HR areas, particularly implementing Data Quality processes, further maturing our Metadata Management and driving cultural awareness of the importance of good Data Governance.
Our HR Data is fundamental to overall priorities, from supporting digitalization of our functions to feeding the analytics and information for continued growth and success as a global organisation. For HR, Data Governance is a growing area of priority and influence with recent investment driving a renewed strategy and implementation plan. This is an important area for the organisation with significant scope for thought partnering and senior stakeholder influencing.
The ideal candidates will have a goal-oriented mindset and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to deliver Data Quality capabilities and support exceptional Data Products. They will have 3+ years of experience in driving an increase in Data Governance maturity in large, highly complex companies and a knowledge of industry best practices. We are looking for candidates with a passion for Data Quality and implementing strategies that are align with organisational goals.
Finally, they should have good communication skills with proven experience in stakeholder engagement (including business and technical teams) with the ability to showcase the business benefits of Data Governance.
Among your responsibilities, you will:
Deliver on the vision and roadmap for our HR Data Governance Strategy
Develop and implement Data Quality processes to support more proactive resolution of issues
Support metadata management (alignment on definitions, capturing data lineage, capturing data classification, maintaining/updating HR items in data catalogue)
Support Data Access controls implemented for Global Data Products
Work with the HR Data Governance team to continuously drive our HR Data Governance Strategy
Understand any data opportunities from our customers, users, and business leads on HR data, especially our BI&A, HR, and Finance stakeholders.
Support sustainable delivery of customer value on the agreed Data Governance roadmap
Deliver on Data Governance priority areas (e.g. Data Quality) and deliver to cohesive action plan to ensure impactful value-add to end customers
Track and report on specific and measurable aligned KPIs and key results, developing metrics to measure maturity and Data Quality
Prioritise identified data opportunities clearly communicating with required stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery
Proactively identify and escalate risks and mitigation plans, along with key decisions, to relevant stakeholders
YOU’RE GOOD AT
Identifying the main gaps and opportunities to pursue within HR data. Implementing controls to identify data issues before they cause an impact. Harmonising definitions and data flows across all functions and geographies and identifying global issues with critical data attributes/elements.
Supporting activities related to the HR Data Governance strategy, including: Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Master Data Management, Data Quality, Data Architecture, and informing Data Product development priorities
Developing analytics, frameworks and KPIs to drive a step-change in Data Quality Issue management, Data Security, Data Profiling and Data Governance maturity
Ensuring adherence to relevant data policies, standards, and guidelines, and maintaining relevant Data Governance artefacts across the data domain (for example, the Data Catalog, classification, and data quality standards of data elements)
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
Bachelor’s or higher degree, preferably in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related fields
3+ years of experience working in data-related or project roles (e.g. Data Management, Data Governance, CDO Office or BI & Analytics team). Prior experience working with HR data is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge of data quality tools, databases, data warehousing, and data analysis techniques. Familiarity with SQL, Snowflake and data visualization (e.g. Tableau)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify data quality issues and develop effective solutions
Passion and interest in solving business-oriented data challenges end-to-end, with demonstrated precision and attention-to-detail
An understanding of Data Governance industry best practice is useful (such as DAMA’s DMBo K & CDMP, EDM Council’s DCAM)
Hands-on experience using Data Governance tools such as Data Catalogs (e.g. Talend Data Catalog) and Data Quality Tools
Solid understanding of HR constructs and domains, data technologies (e.g., Snowflake) and core transactional systems (e.g., Workday, i CIMS, eightfold.ai, Oracle, SAP) will be beneficial
