Job Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: India (Permanent Work From Home)
Salary: ₹30 - ₹40 LPA (flexible for exceptional candidates based on experience)
Experience Level: Minimum 5 years, with preference for candidates with e-commerce experience
(Note: Candidate must be available to work in PST time zone and able to join within a month.)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to build and manage data pipelines that support our data programs, optimize processes, and drive advanced business intelligence. This remote role offers a great opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work on impactful data projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines that align with our data strategy and process improvements.
- Design and implement data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines for Big Data environments (cloud, on-premises, or hybrid).
- Lead data discovery sessions with business teams to understand analytics requirements.
- Ensure data reliability and accuracy through thorough testing and monitoring.
- Collaborate with business experts, analysts, and architects to align data design with business strategy.
- Document best practices, standards, and architectural guidelines.
- Provide technical support to Business Intelligence Engineers to resolve delivery challenges.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to monitor system health.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years in data architecture (data analysis, data modeling, data integration).
- 5+ years in custom ETL design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in Python and Object-Oriented Programming.
- Experience in SQL database design.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of CI/CD processes and source control tools (GitHub, GitLab).
- Experience with relational databases (Snowflake, Redshift).
- Knowledge of orchestration tools (AirFlow preferred), file storage systems (AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage), and real-time data processing.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies in service delivery.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with Tableau or other reporting tools.
- Knowledge of event streaming tools like Kafka or Kinesis.
- Experience with subscription service products.
- Understanding of accounting, FP&A, or marketing functions.
