Title : Deputy CAFO( Chief Accounts & Finance Officer) Department : Finance & Accounts Location : MIT WPU, Pune Campus Job Purpose To oversee daily accounting functions, integrate finance operations, manage forecasting and budgeting, handle tax matters, and prepare financial reports. Key Responsibilities Strategic Management Lead and enhance the university’s financial performance, direct accounting operations, and formulate long-term financial strategies. Develop financial plans that align with and support the university's strategy, implementing effective internal controls to achieve organizational goals. Operational Management Manage accounting records, oversee regulatory compliance, and coordinate auditing processes. Analyze financial data, manage expenditures, forecast revenue, and ensure accurate financial reporting. Handle the university's overall financial activities, including fund management and investment analysis. Develop financial growth plans, monitor internal controls, and coordinate with accounts payable and receivable for efficient fund estimation. Research & Development Stay updated on industry trends and developments relevant to finance responsibilities. Financial & Budgeting Participate in budgeting processes to ensure sound financial planning. Collaborative Functions Streamline accounting functions, produce financial analysis and reports, train staff on financial matters, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote income generation. Academic Development Continually strive for excellence through ongoing learning and adoption of best practices. External Representation Represent MIT WPU on professional bodies, building valuable relationships with community stakeholders, government agencies, and society to enhance the university’s brand. Person Specification Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented and compliance-focused Excellent analytical and auditing skills Proficiency in accounting fundamentals and accounting software Minimum Qualifications & Experience Qualification : Chartered Accountant (CA) Experience : 5 to 10 years in finance management Technical Skills : Proficiency in accounting software This role requires a seasoned finance professional with deep expertise in managing comprehensive financial operations and a commitment to the university’s mission.
