Job Overview:

We are looking for a strategic and analytical Category Manager to oversee and manage product categories, ensuring profitability, market competitiveness, and growth. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, market awareness, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance category performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Category Strategy: Develop and implement category strategies to drive sales, increase profitability, and achieve business objectives.
  2. Market Analysis: Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and potential risks.
  3. Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate terms, and ensure timely procurement of quality products.
  4. Product Selection: Evaluate and select the right products for the category, ensuring they align with market demand and company objectives.
  5. Pricing Strategy: Set competitive pricing strategies while maintaining profitability and value perception for the customers.
  6. Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, ensure optimal inventory levels, and minimize wastage or overstocking.
  7. Promotional Activities: Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional campaigns and strategies to boost category sales.
  8. Performance Tracking: Monitor category performance metrics, such as sales, margins, and market share, and provide actionable insights for improvement.
  9. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, operations, and marketing teams to align category goals with overall business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in category management, procurement, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and consumer behavior.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Proficiency in using category management software and ERP systems.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
