JD Job Description: Test Engineer Role Overview We are seeking a Test Engineer (Azure ETL testing(Azure Data factory+Databricks, Pyspark) ) to support the quality assurance of our evolving data and analytics platform as we transition from on-premise infrastructure to a modern Azure Lakehouse environment. You will be responsible for designing and executing test strategies that ensure the reliability, performance, and accuracy of data pipelines, integrations, and analytics solutions across hybrid infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Test Planning & Execution • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for data pipelines, transformations, and reporting layers. • Conduct functional, integration, regression, and performance testing across Azure and on-premise systems. Automation & CI/CD Integration • Build automated test suites using tools such as PyTest, PowerShell, SQL, and Azure DevOps. • Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery and deployment. Data Validation & Quality Assurance • Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers. • Perform schema validation, data profiling, and anomaly detection. Hybrid Platform Testing • Test data workflows across Azure services (e.g., Synapse Analytics, Data Lake Storage, Delta Lake) and legacy on-premise systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle). • Support testing during data migration phases to ensure data integrity and system interoperability. Monitoring & Reporting • Implement monitoring and alerting for test environments using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics. • Document test results, defects, and quality metrics for reporting and continuous improvement. Required Skills & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. • 3+ years of experience in software or data testing roles, preferably in hybrid or cloud environments. • Strong SQL skills and experience with data validation techniques. • Familiarity with Azure data services and on-premise database platforms. • Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell). • Work on high-impact, enterprise-scale projects with leading Australian organisations. • Access to continuous learning and upskilling opportunities. • Inclusive and collaborative work culture. • Competitive salary and benefits package.
