Our product range is known for its high quality and sustainability, and we are committed to empowering small farmers and promoting fair practices in organic farming. Role Overview The Key Account Manager (KAM) - Modern Trade will be responsible for managing and driving sales in the modern trade channel. This includes building relationships with key accounts, driving sales growth, and ensuring the brand’s strategic presence in leading retail chains. The KAM will play a crucial role in increasing market penetration and achieving sales targets. Key Responsibilities : Account Management : Develop and manage relationships with key modern trade customers, including leading retail chains and supermarkets. Sales Targets : Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets by executing brand strategies in the modern trade channel. Category Management : Work closely with the category and merchandising teams to ensure optimal product visibility and placement across stores. Business Development : Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and potential new modern trade customers. Promotions & Activations : Plan and execute in-store promotions, activations, and sampling activities to drive sales and brand visibility. Negotiation : Negotiate annual agreements, including margins, product listings, and trade spends with modern trade partners. Inventory Management : Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure consistent product availability and minimize stockouts or overstocking. Data & Reporting : Analyze sales data, track performance metrics, and generate actionable insights to improve sales performance. Collaboration : Work closely with marketing, logistics, and finance teams to align on strategies and ensure smooth execution of operations. Key Skills & Competencies : Proven experience in key account management within the FMCG industry, with a focus on modern trade. Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. Understanding of the organic food market and consumer trends is an added advantage. Ability to analyze data, develop insights, and present actionable recommendations. Strategic thinker with a results-oriented approach. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is preferred. 5+ years of experience in modern trade sales, with a proven track record of managing key accounts. Strong knowledge of the FMCG industry, particularly in the food and organic sectors.
