Looking for a "Legal leader" (Asst director/sr manager) with 8-12 years experience for a Global IT organisation based out of Chennai.About the Role: The role involves overseeing various legal functions within the organization, ensuring compliance, managing disputes, and leading a team of legal professionals.Responsibilities:- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including client agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, SLAs, and licensing agreements. Ensure contracts are compliant with applicable laws and internal policies.- Compliance & Risk Management: Monitor and ensure compliance with local and international laws relevant to IT services. Develop and implement internal legal policies and procedures. Conduct periodic legal audits and risk assessments.- Dispute Resolution & Litigation: Manage pre-litigation and litigation matters, including coordination with external counsel. Represent the company in legal proceedings when required.- Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the IT industry. Communicate relevant legal updates to stakeholders and ensure timely compliance.- Team Management: Manage a team of legal professionals. Mentor junior team members and support their professional growth through training, feedback, and career development plans. Conduct regular performance reviews and identify skill gaps for upskilling.Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); Master’s degree (LLM) or specialization in corporate law is optional.- Minimum 8-12 years of experience in corporate legal roles, preferably in IT or technology services.- Strong understanding of contract law, IT regulations, data protection laws, and employment law.- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.- Ability to manage multiple legal projects and stakeholders simultaneously.- High ethical standards and professional integrity.Required Skills: Strong understanding of contract law, IT regulations, data protection laws, and employment law.
