About the Role:
We are partnering with an insurance global business on their Engineering Manager role. As Engineering Manager, you’ll manage full-stack engineering teams across multiple Agile Product Delivery teams, focusing on delivering high-quality software solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Grow and manage full-stack engineering teams with expertise in low-code, web, API, and database development.
- Ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding of both internal and vendor teams, equipping them with the tools, access, and training they need to succeed.
- Chair Scrum-of-Scrums and Engineering forums to support developers, testers, and other roles in delivering within their respective Agile product teams.
- Serve as a point of escalation for technical issues and work collaboratively to resolve them.
- Act as the main contact with Infrastructure and Security teams, driving priorities and aligning global service owners.
- Oversee environment, release, and test management across a hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
- Work with Product Owners, Technical Project Managers, and Architects to ensure successful planning and execution of Agile across a multi-workstream program.
- Take personal responsibility for engineering quality, demonstrating solid Agile delivery metrics.
- Advocate for and extend SDLC and DevSecOps standards within the Aon context, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Your experience:
- 10+ years of experience in full-stack development, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban, etc.) and CI/CD tools (Git, AzDo, Jira).
- Experience with Azure cloud, low-code platforms (e.g., Appian), React, .NET, C#, SQL, and database design.
- Experience managing external vendors and partnerships.
- Experience in commercial insurance.
