Job Description:
We are looking for a dynamic Cultural Wellness Facilitator to help guide and support the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of our team. This role will focus on leading diverse wellness programs, such as yoga, dance, Zumba, and cultural activities, while also offering nutrition advice and stress-relief practices. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of various wellness approaches and a passion for integrating cultural practices to promote overall health and balance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Group Wellness Sessions: Conduct engaging group classes that include yoga, dance, Zumba, and cultural wellness activities that promote physical fitness, mental health, and cultural awareness.
- Personalized Wellness Plans: Design and implement tailored wellness programs based on the specific needs of our employees, focusing on mental well-being, physical fitness, and nutritional health.
- Yoga & Meditation Instruction: Lead yoga sessions, incorporating different styles, meditation techniques, and breathing exercises to promote mental clarity, flexibility, and stress reduction.
- Cultural Integration: Introduce culturally significant activities like traditional dances, mindfulness rituals, and wellness practices from around the world to enhance mental well-being and community connection.
- Nutrition Guidance: Offer basic nutrition tips and support, encouraging healthy eating habits and incorporating culturally diverse, nutritious food practices into the wellness program.
- Promote Mental Health Practices: Facilitate mindfulness, stress management workshops, and group discussions to improve emotional resilience and mental well-being.
- Monitor Progress: Track and evaluate the well-being progress of individuals and groups, making adjustments to programs as necessary to ensure maximum impact and satisfaction.
- Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in wellness, including fitness, mental health practices, and nutrition, integrating new techniques and ideas into programs.
Requirements:
Experience & Certification:
- At least 5 years of experience teaching wellness activities such as yoga, dance, Zumba, or other physical fitness routines, ideally in corporate or community settings.
- Certification in yoga or fitness training from a recognized program. Additional certifications in nutrition, cultural wellness practices, or mental health support are a plus.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of yoga philosophy, anatomy, and alignment principles.
- Ability to design inclusive and culturally diverse wellness programs.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate individuals at all fitness levels.
- Ability to integrate various fitness and mental health practices in a way that resonates with a diverse team.
Personal Qualities:
- Empathetic and culturally sensitive, with a genuine passion for improving others' well-being.
- Energetic, with a positive attitude that encourages participation and growth.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to modify activities based on the needs and abilities of participants.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
