The Head of Business Development will lead strategic growth initiatives for Dastur’s Energy Business, driving new client acquisition, partnerships, and market expansion in the clean energy transition domain. The role requires a unique blend of technical understanding of decarbonization and energy technologies with strategic business leadership to position Dastur as a partner of choice for industrial energy transformation and carbon management solutions. Develop and execute the business development strategy aligned with organizational objectives and emerging opportunities in the energy and decarbonization sectors. - Identify and pursue new markets, clients, and partnership opportunities across industrial sectors (steel, cement, chemicals, power, etc.). - Lead go-to-market strategies for new service lines—energy transition, CCUS, hydrogen, renewables integration, and techno-economic consulting. Build and nurture long-term client relationships with CXOs, technical heads, and decision-makers in key industries. - Drive the full business development lifecycle—lead generation, proposal development, client presentations, negotiations, and closure. - Technical & Commercial Alignment - Translate technical solutions into compelling business propositions and value narratives for clients. - Provide technical oversight during pre-sales and proposal stages to ensure quality and feasibility. Partnership & Ecosystem Development - Identify and onboard technology partners, licensors, and research collaborators in emerging clean energy areas. - Drive strategic alliances and consortium-based project bids in collaboration with international partners. Business Planning & Performance Management - Monitor and report pipeline health, conversion ratios, and key business metrics. - Lead BD team performance through clear KPIs, mentoring, and capability development. Qualifications & Experience - Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Energy); - MBA preferred. - 15+ years of experience in business development, techno-commercial strategy, or consulting within the energy, process, or infrastructure sectors. - Strong technical grounding in energy systems, decarbonization pathways, hydrogen, CCUS, or industrial energy efficiency. - Demonstrated ability to work across technical, commercial, and leadership interfaces.
