Position : Head of Sports Department

Location: Dalhousie Public School, Siswan, New Chandigarh

Start Date: 1 March 2025

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced  Head of Sports to lead and manage the school's physical education program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of outdoor and indoor sports activities, promote physical fitness and teamwork, ensuring the overall growth and development of the spirit of sportsmanship in school.

Role Overview: 

  • Lead, manage, and develop the school’s physical education programs for students of all age groups.
  • Organize and lead regular sports practices, fitness sessions, and training for students in various sports disciplines.
  • Plan and coordinate sporting activities, including inter-school competitions, sports events, and annual sports day.
  • Supervise and guide sports coaches and physical education teachers.
  • Foster a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and inclusivity within the school.
  • Oversee the maintenance and management of sports facilities, equipment, and resources.
  • Conduct assessments of student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Develop and implement strategies to encourage student participation in a wide range of sports.
  • Represent the school in sports-related external competitions and maintain relationships with other institutions and governing bodies.

We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed, M.P.Ed).
  • Proven experience (5 – 7 years) in a school setting.
  • Certification or training in coaching sports (e.g., athletics, cricket, football, basketball, etc.) is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills in managing a team of sports coaches and staff.
  • Passion for sports and physical fitness, with a commitment to fostering a healthy and inclusive attitude to physical activities in students. 
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to enjoy sports and physical education.
  • Knowledge of current trends in sports education and fitness.
