Job Summary:

We seek a highly skilled Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) professional to lead our team in developing and managing complex project programs. This role requires excellent leadership skills, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to integrate ESH requirements across multiple functions and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish ESH Performance Standards: Develop and implement ESH performance standards, systems, and policies for ESH performance among corporate functions, global business units, and projects.
  2. Supervise ESH Personnel: Oversee and facilitate the development of ESH personnel through assignments, coaching, and mentoring.
  3. Integrate ESH Requirements: Ensure ESH requirements are properly interpreted by projects and other functions, and integrated into GBU processes, planning, procedures, and training for all three ESH disciplines.
  4. Develop and Sustain the ESH Management System: Develop and sustain the ESH Management System and assure it is applied across all functions, GBUs, and projects to continually improve EHS program execution.
  5. Manage ESH Program Development and Execution: Manage ESH program development and execution within Bechtel, confirming that corporate functions, GBUs, and projects adhere to ESH requirements, standards, and customer expectations.
  6. Manage Budgets, Schedules, and Resources: Manage budgets, schedules, and resources for interpreting and implementing complex ESH requirements, evaluating and applying appropriate ESH principles, and developing suitable plans and methods in compliance with global ESH requirements.
  7. Oversee Implementation of ESH Policy and Management System: Oversee and review the implementation of Bechtel's ESH Policy, Management System, and standards.
  8. Conduct Audits and Confirm Compliance: Conduct audits to confirm ESH compliance with contractual commitments, laws and regulations, environmental permit requirements, and Bechtel standards.
  9. Confirm ESH Emergency Preparedness Planning: Confirm ESH emergency preparedness planning and the adequacy of incident investigation and resolution.

Education and Experience Requirements:

We require a Bachelor's or Master's degree (or international equivalent) related to environmental, safety, health or science-related discipline, and 22+ years of relevant experience or 26+ years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Develop, Implement, and Monitor a Management System: Ability to develop, implement, and monitor a management system based on Bechtel, Client, and contractual requirements for a multifaceted project consisting of multiple site locations and contract types.
  2. Integrate and Manage Risk: Must have a thorough understanding of the petrochemical industry from a construction and operational perspective with an innate ability to integrate and manage risk into the overarching management system and day-to-day work activities.
  3. Positive 'Can Do' Attitude: Must have a positive 'can do' attitude and place the needs of the project, company, and client at the forefront of all interactions and decisions.
  4. International Experience: Candidate must have international experience working in a Senior Environmental, Safety and Health capacity preferably in the European, Asian and Middle Eastern regions, although other relevant international experience will be considered.
  5. PMC Experience: Prior Project Management Consultancy (PMC) experience will be highly regarded.
  6. Working with Multilingual Workforce: Candidate must be experienced in working with a multilingual workforce from diverse geographical locations and regions.
