About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Expert to join our team at Renesas Electronics. As a key member of our software development organization, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing highly optimized software for automotive IVI and cockpit applications on the Renesas R-Car SoC devices.

Main Responsibilities

  • We are looking for a talented individual to collaborate with our sales, marketing, and applications engineers to generate winning reference software and application demos that showcase the capabilities of our R-Car SoC devices.

  • You will be responsible for enhancing our software capabilities by extending the support of reference applications, HW accelerator use cases, and other connectivity applications.

  • As a key member of our technical team, you will conduct benchmarks related to industry standards and emphasize the competitiveness of our current and future platforms.

  • You will provide support to our customers as an application engineer to accelerate the development of customer solutions and create easy-to-use collateral such as application notes and reference solutions.

  • You will work closely with our hardware and software product development organizations to validate the performance of our SoC products and optimize various aspects including computation, operational, and power.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for a highly skilled individual with 6+ years of industry experience in Embedded system software development using C++/Python, including low-level firmware, kernel, and user-space components on an SoC product comparable to the Renesas R-Car family.

  • You should have strong hands-on knowledge of automotive technologies related to cockpit, cluster, and infotainment systems, including graphics, audio, display, and camera technologies.

  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Android is required, with knowledge of at least one other automotive operating system expected (QNX, AUTOSAR, etc).

  • Familiarity with automotive safety concepts, including ISO26262 and Freedom from Interference, is essential.

  • You should have strong knowledge of display and graphics IPs, such as GPUs, compositors, display pipelines, and other related hardware IPs and software frameworks.

  • Strong knowledge of audio IPs, such as audio DSPs, audio connections, and related SW frameworks, is also required.

  • You should be able to develop and debug on both real hardware and simulation/emulation environments.

  • Software debugging, including CLI, PCB, and application-level debug techniques, is also essential.

  • You should be able to debug high-speed communication interfaces, including HW/SW co-debug.
