Senior Full Stack Developer Position for McKayne

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Node.js Developer to join our team at McKayne. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in developing high-quality products using cutting-edge technologies.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in Node JS development and a deep understanding of server-side programming. Experience with databases such as MongoDB and PostgreSQL is essential. You should be able to debug complex problems quickly and efficiently, and possess a strong knowledge of web development techniques including AJAX and RESTful web services.

In this full-time role, your day-to-day tasks will include collaborating with cross-functional teams, coding and testing applications, troubleshooting and debugging issues, and implementing new features and functionalities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure applications using Node JS, MongoDB, and other related technologies
  • Build efficient database schemas that meet customer requirements, ensuring optimal data storage and retrieval
  • Collaborate with fellow developers on code reviews, system architecture design, and testing to ensure the highest quality standards
  • Troubleshoot production issues, fix bugs, and implement security best practices to protect data and user information
  • Write unit tests to ensure the quality and reliability of the codebase
  • Optimize application performance for maximum speed and scalability, deploying changes to AWS using EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, and API Gateway
  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform, ensuring consistent and reproducible environments
  • Ensure application security by implementing authentication, authorization, and data encryption best practices
  • Manage AWS security groups, IAM roles, and policies to enforce secure access controls

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Backend Node JS Developer, preferably in a similar industry
  • Expertise in building applications with Node JS and familiarity with popular frameworks
  • Experience working with databases like MongoDB and PostgreSQL, and ability to design efficient schema
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to debug complex issues efficiently
  • Knowledge of web development techniques, including AJAX and RESTful web services
  • Understanding of server architectures and deployment processes, including CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git/Github, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming, and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Expertise in AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudFormation, and IAM
