Senior Business Analyst Job Description

The Senior Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in the successful delivery of consulting engagements.

This individual works closely with client stakeholders and business users, gathering and documenting solution requirements; modeling and configuring e-commerce data structures and business processes; collecting, manipulating, and loading product data; defining test scripts and acceptance criteria; managing and communicating requirement, design, and priority changes; and facilitating and managing defect tracking and prioritization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct one-on-one or small group interviews to gather required use cases, functional requirements, and technical requirements for developing requirement documentation.
  2. Provide analytical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and documenting e-commerce system requirements and procedures that are cost-effective and meet business objectives and user needs.
  3. Offer consultation to client stakeholders and business users on omni-channel-specific business topics, including product catalog modeling, inventory management, customer service, B2B customer management, B2B procurement, demand generation, promotion strategy, cross-channel commerce, and more.
  4. Develop user requirements, functional specifications, technical specifications, data models, and process flow diagrams to communicate engagement scope to clients and delivery team members.
  5. Accountable for completing assigned work within specified timeframes and communicating status if task delivery dates are at risk.
  6. Collaborate with other project delivery team members towards resolving business or systems issues.
  7. Understand e-commerce data structures, collect product catalogue data from client business users, manipulate data for import into e-commerce systems, identify data gaps, and perform product data imports into e-commerce systems (project-dependent).
  8. Provide system demonstrations and training to client business users.
  9. Develop test plans, write manual/automated test scripts, and define acceptance criteria to ensure high-quality project deliverables (project-dependent).
