Talent500 is seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to develop and optimize data warehouse solutions in Snowflake for finance and accounting workloads.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in building and scaling modern financial data platforms using dbt, Snowflake, and financial systems integration. This position focuses on helping Accounting and Finance teams gain trusted insights and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Snowflake Data Engineering: Design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines and workflows using Snowflake, dbt, and other tools.
  • dbt Development: Build and maintain dbt models and transformations that enable clean, governed, and auditable financial data flows.
  • Financial Systems Integration: Implement data pipelines that source from ERP and finance systems to support revenue recognition, reconciliations, and accounting processes.
  • Collaboration: Work directly with Finance and Accounting partners to translate business requirements into technical designs and data solutions.
  • Data Quality & Compliance: Ensure accuracy, consistency, and traceability of financial data to support audit and compliance requirements.
  • Team Contribution: Collaborate in an agile engineering environment, participating in code reviews, sprint planning, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Mentor junior engineers and share best practices for Snowflake and dbt usage within the team.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Professional Experience: 5-7 years of professional experience in data engineering or data platform roles, preferably with financial systems.
  • Technical Skills: Strong SQL development skills with focus on efficiency and maintainability, hands-on experience with Snowflake, and 2+ years of dbt experience.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of accounting concepts and ability to partner with Finance/Accounting teams.
  • CI/CD Workflow: Familiarity with CI/CD workflows (Git, GitHub, GitLab, or similar).
