Software Validation Engineer

As a Verification & Validation (V&V) Designer, you will be responsible for validating Driver Machine Interface application software. Your primary objective will be to demonstrate that software or software components fulfill their intended use when placed in their intended environment (real or simulated).
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, requirement-based testing, and a good understanding of testing techniques like black box, boundary value analysis, and robustness analysis. Experience with configuration management tools like ClearCase and bug reporting tools like Bugzilla will be an added advantage.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
- Defining the test strategy and test plan, estimation, and delivery schedule
- Specifying, designing, and developing the validation environment & tools
- Ensuring requirements traceability according to the Requirements Management Plan
- Integrating components from various development teams, performing integration, and preparing the validation platform
- Using automation scripts, batch files to automate integration and validation tasks
- Producing validation result reports and associated Change Requests (defects)
- Contributing to standardization by reusing existing solutions or implementing reusable solutions
- Maintaining a strong link with architects and designers throughout the software validation cycle
- Applying organization processes and standards
Key qualifications for this role include:
- 4+ years of experience in software testing, requirement-based testing
- Good knowledge in SW module/functional and integration testing
- Good knowledge of testing techniques like black box, boundary value analysis, Robustness analysis (Exposure to Embedded application testing is an added advantage)
- Understanding of regression analysis
- Knowledge of any configuration management tool like ClearCase etc.
- Knowledge of any bug reporting tool like Bugzilla, Clear Quest etc.
- Experience in writing script using Python, Shell and work experience on Linux/Ubuntu platforms is a huge plus
- Knowledge in Railway Signaling Domain is an added advantage
Software validation and related integrated development environment protocols, such as TCP/IP, CAN, CENELEC SIL4/DO178A/DO178, will be essential skills for this role. Familiarity with automation scripts, batch files to automate integration and validation tasks will also be beneficial.
