Business Development Category Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Category Manager to join our team at Bristol Myers Squibb. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, driving strategic sourcing initiatives for Imaging and Cardiac Safety.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that drive business growth, improve efficiency, and reduce costs. As a key member of our Global Procurement organization, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and implement change management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute category strategies that align with business objectives, ensuring maximum value creation and minimal risk.
- Lead large-scale sourcing events, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and managing vendor relationships.
- Analyze market trends, assess supplier capabilities, and recommend strategic partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify process improvements, streamline operations, and enhance overall productivity.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive spend analysis reports, providing insights into market trends and supplier performance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in business development, procurement, or a related field, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate complex agreements and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with Ariba, Icertis, or similar procurement software, preferred.
- Possession of relevant industry certifications, such as CPM/CPSM/CSCP/CPIM, a plus.
Bristol Myers Squibb offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on location and experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and generous paid time off.
