Job Title: Functional Cost Controller

Overview

As a Functional Cost Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial processes of our organization. Your role will involve analyzing financial data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing cost-saving measures to drive business growth.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and track transformation initiatives in line with functional strategy.
  • SUPPORT FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP TEAM TO IMPROVE PROCESSES AND ACHIEVE FUNCTIONAL EXCELLENCE.
  • Provide insightful and actionable financial reporting to Functional Leadership.
  • Ensure business risks and opportunities are managed to deliver best financial income.
  • Initiate and/or participate in projects to improve functional performance.
  • Ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions.
Financial Process Management
  • Responsible for functional P&L analysis and relevant B/S accounts.
  • Review and monitor functional cost development (operations, one-offs, projects).
  • Manage monthly/quarterly/annual financial processes (month-end closing, quarterly forecast, annual budget).
  • Monthly actuals vs budget analysis, transformation initiatives savings tracking.
  • Work with accounting and other finance departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Implement and maintain robust SOX and internal controls to ensure timely cost recognition.
  • Interact with tax team on fiscal matters related to overhead cost sharing or projects.
Process Improvement
  • Support continuous improvement to financial processes (month-end closing, forecast, budget).
  • Drive further standardization, automation, and reporting across functional areas.
  • Implement best practices within functional control team.
  • Participate in ad-hoc improvement projects.

We believe you bring:

  • Chartered Accountant/Cost & Management Accountant/MBA (Finance) from a B-School with relevant experience.
  • 5–8-year experience in financial analyst/controling functions.
  • Interest in working in the chemical manufacturing industry with a global multi-national organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of ERP system (SAP preferred), Business Warehouse, PowerBi.
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Flexible, comfortable in a demanding environment within an international context.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, creates enthusiasm, drives change, analytical, and fact-based.
