Job Summary
We are looking for a seasoned professional to lead our intellectual property (IP) efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting extensive searches, collating information from patent documents and non-patent literature, and reviewing research information collected by the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out extensive search and collate the information from patent document and non-patent literature for the shortlisted products for the specified markets.
- Review research information collected by the team.
- Prepare and review the IP Landscape report or strategy report for the specified markets.
- Monitor the status of potential patents or applications.
- Prepare non-infringing, patentable strategies as well as pack insert carve-out strategies.
- Provide technical and legal support to the attorneys, lawyers / outside counsel in case of litigation.
- Carry out IP due diligence activities for the in-licensing dossiers.
- Provide support to portfolio team for identification of new products for development.
- Resolve the IP queries and provide active support to business development team.
- Perform IP related activities and communicate with API vendors for API clearance for development.
- Draft, review and recommend IP related clauses in business agreement, settlement and licensing agreement, engagement letters, database agreements etc.
- Preliminary evaluation of the formulation strategy for patentability.
- Draft, file, prosecute and maintenance of patent / patent application in various countries.
- Communicate with Patent Attorney and Patent Office for matters pertaining to patent applications or matters pertaining to non-infringement and invalidation opinions.
- Evaluate and maintain IPR databases.
- Provide cost estimates for patent filing, renewals, opinions, litigations and coordinates with Finance for approval of the required budget.
- Prepare regular update/MIS reports and provide to department head.
- Keep self-updated with the current IPR laws and regulations.
- Identify and assist in providing the technical, functional and behavioral training needs of the team.
Requirements
Experience: 15-20yrs
Qualification: M.Pharm/PhD
