Business Systems Analyst Opportunity at Sails Software Inc


We are seeking a skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team at Sails Software Inc. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions and gathering information.
  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams, study system capabilities, and write specifications.
  • Familiarity with relational database concepts and client-server concepts is required.
  • Proficient knowledge of tools such as Kan-board, Jira, Orange Scrum, Bug Tracker, and Rally for User Stories, Defects, and backlog management.
  • Facilitate Daily Stand-up meetings, Retrospective meetings, Sprint grooming sessions, and other Scrum team meetings.
  • Track User Stories, Tasks, and Defects status on a daily basis by maintaining Sprint tracker, Defect tracker, and other relevant tools.
  • Improve systems by studying current practices and designing modifications.
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems and writing improved procedures.
  • Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements.
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions.
  • Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Validate resource requirements and develop cost estimate models.
  • Interpret, evaluate, and interrelate research data and develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making.
  • Plan and coordinate the development of primary and secondary market research studies in support of strategic planning and specific marketing initiatives, as required, and present findings of studies to client committees.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports.
  • Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations and actively participate in the implementation of approved changes.
  • Create informative, actionable, and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues.

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Microsoft Access and/or SQL experience is strongly preferred.
  • The ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational is essential.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and inquisitive skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently and with others is necessary.
  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills is required.
