Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Specialist - Patent Drafting and Prosecution to join our esteemed team. As a key member of our IP department, you will be responsible for drafting and reviewing patent applications, office action responses, and managing paralegal and docketing teams.

The ideal candidate should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent understanding of US and EP patent laws, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drafting and reviewing provisional/non-provisional patent applications for filing in major jurisdictions, including (but not limited to) US, EP, and PCT.
  • Drafting and reviewing office action responses for filing in major jurisdictions, including (but not limited to) US and EP
  • Training team members on preparation and prosecution
  • Managing paralegal and docketing teams
  • Co-ordinating with partner law firms for patent drafting, filing, and prosecution activities
About the Role

This role requires someone with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, who can think strategically and drive efficiencies in patent drafting and prosecution. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:
  • B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech. – Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Computer Science Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering
  • Registered patent agent is a plus.
  • LL.B. (Hons.) from a reputable law school, is a plus.
  • Experience in preparing patent applications and drafting office action responses
  • Excellent understanding of US and EP patent laws
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good people management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other professionals in the legal department and business teams
